Lou and Mark visited Marvin in March 2011 just after he had received his diploma from English Class Level 4 at Ave Marie College. He was so proud to present us with the diploma that we had to include a photo on this site.
But that's not all, Marvin was thrilled to inform us that he has a new job! Thanks to his English language skills he was hired by a hotel in town to service and rent ATVs to tourists. This job represents a vast improvement from his job as an auto mechanic apprentice where he worked long hours for little pay. In his new position Marvin can practice English with the tourists and improve his language skills.
In case you are wondering, Marvin earns the equivalent of $160 dollars monthly at his new job; roughly three times the average salary in Nicaragua.
